Job summary

Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, CT is seeking a Veterinary Technician for an overnight Emergency/ICU role. This full-time position involves hands-on ICU care, patient monitoring, and close collaboration with board-certified Criticalists and ER veterinarians.

You will monitor patients with advanced equipment, communicate with pet parents, and contribute to training and process improvements. The role requires experience in emergency or ICU settings, competency in restraint, venipuncture, IV

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in veterinary technology or CVT license preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on ICU care: treatments, vitals monitoring, advanced diagnostics.
• Work closely with board-certified Criticalists and ER vets.
• Monitor patients closely using advanced equipment.
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents.
• Help train teammates and improve processes.

Veterinary Technician - Emergency – Overnight Shift — Pieper Veterinary

Middletown, CT | Full-Time

Schedule & Pay

• Wednesday through Saturday 8:00pm-6:00am
• Please note that holidays are required.
• $21.00-$30.00/hour, based on experience. Plus a shift differential!

What You Bring

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting
• Skilled in restraint, triage, patient monitoring, ventilator support, anesthesia, venipuncture, IV placement
• Associate’s in Veterinary Technology and/or CVT license a plus
• Strong communicator, works well independently and on a team
