BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department. This fast-paced role offers opportunity to work with a talented team and manage anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care for critical cases.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia for patients.

• Assist with phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a Full-Time, Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Department at our Olympia, WA location!

• Prior ER veterinary experience preferred.

LVT Pay: $26 - $40 / hour

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. *Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

• Shift Differential Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50
• Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00
• Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50
• Required rotating on call shifts

As An Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
