BluePearl Pet Hospital in the United States is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Multiple shifts available (Day, Swing, Overnight; weekends required). Pay range $22.15–$33.60 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and notify Veterinarian of changes.
• Maintain analgesia and patient safety.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Maintain feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Mentor and train co-workers while providing compassionate client care.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital , the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting , fast-paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
