Full-time - Overnight and day shift

Elgin Veterinary Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking an Equine Veterinary Technician to join our team. We offer support, tools, and resources to enhance your skills. Our hospital, rooted in the local community, combines a genuine local feel with Thrive's extensive resources.

About You

You will play a vital role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care, including outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgery assistance, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Previous equine experience in a professional setting.
• Ability to handle racehorses, administer injections, and apply bandages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and teamwork mindset.
• Dedication to animal care and facility cleanliness.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Veterinary technician licensure is a plus.
• Availability to work 40+ hours weekly, including rotating weekends and some nights.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist with appointments.
• Conduct lab work.
• Administer treatments (oral, IV, IM, ophthalmic).
• Prepare medications.
• Take TPRs.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
