Bovine Veterinary Technician

Full-time

Elgin, Texas

Elgin Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Bovine Vet Tech to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

About You

As a Vet Tech, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will include facilitating outpatient treatments, performing laboratory tests, assisting in surgeries, and supporting services like admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assist with appointments
• Run lab work
• Administer treatments: oral, IV, IM, ophthalmic
• Prepare medications
• Set-up for procedures
• Take TPRs
• Participate in on-call rotation duties

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous equine experience including bovine work in a professional setting
• Knowledge of handling large animals, giving injections, and applying bandages
• Teamwork mindset and ability to anticipate veterinarian needs
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week, including rotating full weekend shifts and some nights
• Dedication to animal care and facility cleanliness
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physical ability to stoop or bend
