Job summary

VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Team in Mesa, AZ. This full-time role runs Wednesday through Saturday, 4 pm–2 am, offering a 12-hour swing schedule and a competitive hourly rate.

You will perform venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, and patient assessments, while assisting in surgery, dentistry, lab work, and pharmacy. Compassionate care for hospitalized patients is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid veterinary technician credential.
• Emergency/critical care experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Support radiology and anesthesia monitoring.
• Conduct physical exams and patient assessments.
• Assist in surgical preparation and procedures.
• Support dentistry, laboratory work, and pharmacy tasks.
• Ensure patient recovery and comfort in hospitalization.

VCA Animal Referral and Emergency Center of Arizona is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Team.

Location: 1648 N Country Club Dr, Mesa, AZ 85201

Schedule: Full-Time, Wednesday - Saturday, 4 pm - 2 am 3 days, 12-hour alternative workweek, swing shift

Salary: $24 - $30 per hour
