Job summary

Absecon Veterinary Hospital is seeking Veterinary Technicians to join our growing team. We are currently hiring full-time, part-time, and relief technicians to support our General Practice, Emergency, and Surgery departments.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in veterinary emergency, urgent care, or general practice.
Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
Certified or licensed veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and medical observations.
Safely restrain animals for examinations and procedures.
Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition.
Provide nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients.
Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples.
Perform in-house laboratory testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, cytology, and fecal analysis.
Take diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning and radiation safety protocols.
Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures.
Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia under veterinarian supervision.
Monitor anesthetic depth and patient safety during procedures.
Maintain sterile equipment and hospital cleanliness.
Educate clients on medications, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions.
Support veterinarians in discussing diagnostics and treatment recommendations.
