BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is hiring Part-Time Veterinary Technicians

Join our busy Emergency and Critical Care department and work in a fast-paced, learning environment. If you love emergency cases and providing care and comfort to critically ill or injured patients, and are passionate about enriching lives through remarkable pet care, we want to hear from you.

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour
This starting pay depends on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, for example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

As Emergency Veterinary Technicians, your responsibilities include:

• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia, and using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage of emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Performing digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understanding normal ranges of vital signs and alerting Veterinarians to any changes.
• Identifying patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR.
• Calculating medical math, administering medications appropriately, and placing intravenous catheters and feeding tubes.
• Mentoring and training colleagues, and addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
