Veterinary Technician - Emergency Part Time

Position Overview

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is hiring Part-Time Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Compensation

Pay: $21.00 - $43.00/hour, depending on experience and progression through our competency leveling system.

We also offer shift differential pay for nights and weekends, for example:

• Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography, ensuring proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to any abnormalities.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR as needed.
• Calculate medical dosages, administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central lines.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
