Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician experience required.
• Emergency or critical care experience strongly preferred.
• CVT, RVT, or LVT preferred, but not required.
• Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient restraint.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced emergency environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming emergency patients and assist with patient intake.
• Obtain patient histories and communicate clearly with clients and medical team.
• Assist DVMs with diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, blood draws, and laboratory testing.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Monitor anesthesia, sedation, and hospitalized patients.
• Support imaging including radiographs and CT cases.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill and hospitalized patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient charges.
• Collaborate with emergency doctors, specialists, and fellow technicians to provide seamless patient care.

Location: South Deerfield, MA

Schedule: Full-Time | Four 9-hour shifts per week

Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in South Deerfield, MA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team. This full-time Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for a Vet Tech looking to build emergency and critical care skills while working alongside an experienced, collaborative team.

Compensation

• Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: $20.00–$28.50/hour

• VTS compensation considered based on experience and credentials

Shift Differentials

• Swing Shift (4:00pm–11:59pm): +$2.00/hour
• Overnight Shift (6:00pm–6:00am): +$2.50/hour
