Job summary

VESH is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian for a full-time role in South Deerfield, MA. The position offers a starting salary of $160,000 to $180,000 with tiered production bonuses, plus sign-on and relocation assistance.

Three 12-hour shifts per week provide a balanced schedule within a premier emergency and specialty network. Choose to practice in a collaborative, high-volume environment with access to internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Exotics, and Urgent Care.

Qualifications

  • DVM degree or equivalent with eligibility for state licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or 2+ years' emergency medicine experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with client-centered approach.
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to high patient care.
  • Continuous learning and teamwork in emergency veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care with receiving new cases, triage, and hospitalized patients.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
  • Cut soft tissue emergency surgeries as needed.
  • Work with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams for seamless care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.

What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or 2+ years' experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
