Are you a Registered Veterinary Technician (or Licensed Veterinary Technician) who is ready to bring your skills to a great place? Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital is seeking an awesome candidate help support our fast-growing needs. We are hiring an overnight emergency veterinary technician to take care of our overnight surgical patients and receive/treat emergency and urgent care cases.
This position will work 4 days (Monday through Thursday) from 10pm-8am, though this schedule may change to 12-hour shifts as our services continue to expand. Some weekends may be required.

Daily Responsibilities:
Provide patient care to surgical and emergency patient
Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital obtaining vital signs
Proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels
Can obtain and interpret vital signs. Understands normal ranges
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters
Perform digital radiography
Properly calculate medical math for injectables and CRI's
Monitor patients under anesthesia
Trained in CPR. Can identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
Bandage application and removal
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs
Perform basic wound care
Perform in-house laboratory testing
Maintain isolation protocols
Qualifications:
RVT licensed in North Carolina, or you have transferrable licensure from another state with plans to license in NC within 60 days
At least two years of ER/ICU veterinary experience (3-5 years preferred)
Calm under pressure
Critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize in the face of adversity
