BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00am - 7:00pm.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the Veterinary Technician role offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triages emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes and issues.
6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
7. Calculate medical dosages accurately, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
8. Proficiently perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
10. Mentor and train co-workers, fostering a team environment.
11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
