BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts, 7:00am - 7:00pm.

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician offers an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to utilize and expand your skills, working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

  1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  2. Triage emergency cases, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
  4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rates, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes.
  6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  7. Calculate medical dosages, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
  8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
  9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  10. Mentor and train colleagues.
  11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
