Job summary

Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, MA is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician for Emergency Evenings to join our Emergency & Critical Care team. The role offers evenings with four 9-hour shifts, a $24–$30/hour base rate plus a $5/hour Overnight Shift Differential, and opportunities to grow ER/ICU skills.

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency patients and support the intake process.
• Guide clients through their pet’s treatment and care plan.
• Collaborate with DVMs on diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery care.
• Place IV catheters and collect laboratory samples.
• Assist with radiographs, imaging, surgeries, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Deliver exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Bulger Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician, Emergency to join our Emergency & Critical Care team in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Veterinary Technician looking to grow ER and ICU skills while working in a collaborative specialty hospital environment.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician at Bulger, you’ll work alongside experienced veterinarians, specialists, and technicians while supporting advanced patient care and making a direct impact every shift.

Compensation

• $24–$30/hour based on skills and experience
• Overnight shift differential: +$5/hour for hours worked between 11:00 PM–6:00 AM

• Confidence with catheter placement, laboratory work, and technical nursing skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
• Strong communication skills and commitment to exceptional patient care
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
