Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Requirements:

• Must be able to work 10am-10pm ER shifts.
• Availability on weekends and holidays.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 per hour (dependent on experience and progression through our leveling system). Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

BluePearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role for Veterinary Technicians to utilize and expand their skills, working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
