Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency department.

Pay: $24.00 - $49.00/hr

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.

*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role for Veterinary Technicians, allowing you to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases, obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.

• Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, including infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
