Job summary

Pet+ER, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 emergency team in Hunt Valley, MD. RVT preferred but not required; schedule includes four 10-hour shifts with day and overnight options and rotating weekends/holidays.

You will work closely with Emergency Clinicians, perform phlebotomy, radiography, anesthesia monitoring, and in-house labs, while providing compassionate client care and maintaining high clinical standards.

Qualifications

  • Certified, Registered, or Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred, but not required.
  • Emergency or critical care experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, radiography, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to think critically and thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care for emergency and critically ill patients.
  • Collaborate with Emergency Veterinarians to provide outstanding patient and client care.
  • Perform safe, low-stress patient handling techniques.
  • Obtain blood samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and efficiently.
  • Support patient appointments and provide compassionate client education.
  • Assist with anesthesia and endoscopy procedures.
  • Monitor hospitalized, ICU, outpatient, and overnight specialty patients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, clients, and team members.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and strong communication while working in a fast-paced emergency environment.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

In your day‑to‑day, you will:
