Qualifications

Veterinary Technician

Cambridge Veterinary Care in Cambridge, MA

Pay rate: $24.00-$29.00/hour, depending on experience and licensure

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  1. Bringing clients/patients to exam rooms and obtaining history
  2. Collecting voided urine/fecal samples
  3. Assisting DVM/LVT with treatments
  4. Executing treatment orders
  5. Keeping cages clean and sanitized
  6. Walking, feeding, and picking up after animals
  7. Cleaning duties as needed (Laundry, Dishes, Mopping, etc...)
  8. Communicating with clients via phone and in-person
  9. Taking/assisting in taking radiographs
  10. Filling prescribed medication
  11. Restraint of animals
  12. Having a basic understanding of prescribed medications

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) is highly desirable; equivalent training and experience may substitute.
  • Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle them even when stressed, ill, or in pain. Dedication to safety for all involved.
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • Experience recognizing limits and asking for help when needed
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques
