Cornelius Veterinary Clinic, part of the AmeriVet family, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician for a part-time role in Cornelius, Oregon. You will be involved in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, drawing blood, and performing in-clinic lab work.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a veterinary setting, are certified (or pursuing certification), and excel in client communication.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technicians preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Familiarity with common treatments in veterinary settings.
• Ability to obtain accurate medical histories.
• Assist doctors and staff with surgeries.
• Perform blood draws (cephalic/jugular).
• Place IV catheters.
• Digital radiology and positioning skills.
• Dentistry: digital X-rays, scaling, polishing.
• Anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique.
• Lab skills: cytology, HM5, Vetscan, Sedivue.
• Excellent client communication and education.
• Passion for working with animals and owners.

Responsabilités

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during surgeries.
• Draw blood and collect medical histories.
• Position and monitor patients during anesthesia.
• Perform dental procedures and radiology imaging.
• Operate in-clinic laboratory equipment as needed.
• Educate clients on care and treatment plans.

Cornelius Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician

The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients and clients. Be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring surgery patients, surgical recovery, drawing blood and running bloodwork, placing IV catheters, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, experience with in-clinic laboratory equipment, comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. A positive and motivating attitude is a must. Requirements:

• Certified Veterinary Technicians (highly preferred)
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Knowledge of common treatments and processes normally found in a veterinary hospital setting
• Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
• Assisting doctor and other technical staff with surgeries
• Blood draws (cephalic and jugular)
• Placing IV catheters
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
• Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
• Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
• Excellent client communication/education
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
