Job summary

Cornelius Veterinary Clinic in Cornelius, Oregon is seeking an experienced Part-Time Veterinary Technician to join our long-standing small animal practice. You will be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and supporting the clinical team in daily tasks.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a veterinary setting, is skilled with blood draws, IV catheter placement, digital radiology, in-clinic lab work, and strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Accurate medical histories.
• Assisting doctor with surgeries.
• Blood draws (cephalic and jugular).
• IV catheter placement.
• Digital radiology including positioning.
• Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing).
• Anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring.
• Laboratory skills: HM5, Vetscan, Sedivue.
• Excellent client communication/education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare for exams.
• Assist veterinarians during surgeries and monitor anesthesia.
• Monitor surgery patients and medical recovery.
• Draw blood and place IV catheters.
• Perform and assist with dental radiographs and cleaning.
• Operate in-clinic lab equipment and record results.
• Educate clients about procedures and aftercare.
