Vernon Woods Animal Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our General Practice team. You will support veterinarians, perform clinical tasks, and help ensure a compassionate, high-quality patient and client experience.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in a veterinary setting, comfort with wellness exams, diagnostics, anesthesia support, and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary hospital environment.
• Comprehensive duties include wellness exams, diagnostics, and treatments.
• AVMA-accredited program preferred or VTNE-ready credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during wellness exams, sick visits, and procedures.
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and treatment information.
• Provide safe, low-stress patient handling and monitoring.
• Support surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery.
• Educate clients on preventive care and home care instructions.
