The Veterinary Technician Clinical Director is responsible for coordinating the clinical education and instruction of students in the Veterinary Nursing Programs. This role ensures high-quality training by managing clinical partnerships, monitoring student progress, and supporting program development.
Secure and maintain clinical affiliation contracts, ensuring sites meet program requirements.
Conduct student orientations for clinical education sites.
Track student success rates, implement retention strategies, and maintain an 80% or higher student success rate.
Monitor and evaluate student competency in clinical settings.
Maintain accurate student records, grades, and transcripts in compliance with institutional policies.
Assess student performance and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.
Visit clinical sites to evaluate student progress and collaborate with site instructors.
Coordinate and refine the clinical education plan in collaboration with the Program Director.
Schedule student clinical rotations and develop learning objectives and evaluations.
Assist with admissions processes as needed.
Serve as a Veterinary Nursing instructor when required.

Mental Tasks: Interpret educational materials, follow oral/written instructions, and communicate effectively.
Physical Tasks: File documents, demonstrate veterinary nursing techniques (including lifting and animal restraint).
Equipment Used: Standard veterinary tools, office equipment (computer, printer, copier).
Work Environment: Classroom, lab, and office settings; potential exposure to biohazards (blood, bodily fluids) and outdoor large animal enclosures.
Education: Associate degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program (Bachelor’s preferred).
Experience: 3+ years of veterinary field experience; leadership/supervisory experience a plus.
Licensure/Certification: Current RVT or CVT credential (or equivalent state-required license).
Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Salary Range: $78,030 – $97,535 (commensurate with experience)
