Job summary

The Veterinary Clinic of Pearland is seeking a friendly Veterinary Technician to join our team serving Pearland, Alvin, Houston and surrounding areas. You will assist veterinarians, monitor hospitalized pets, handle basic in-house lab work and educate clients about care.

Weekend availability, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and basic computer skills are required. We offer Paid time off, health/dental/vision insurance, retirement benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Basic math for calculating dosages
• Basic computer skills, MS Office familiarity
• Strong communication skills for patient safety

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed
• Assist outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, weights, and providing client education
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures
• Obtain samples and perform in-hospital lab testing; prepare specimens for outside labs
• Take and develop radiographs following safety procedures
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients
• Communicate with veterinarians and team members about patient plans and concerns
• Any other duties as assigned
