Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiac patients per hospital standards.
• Report patient signals, problems, and plans during rounds.
• Calculate medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
• Administer medications and monitor routes/durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and obtain patient histories.
• Assist clinicians with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge instructions to clients.

Pay $23.20 - $43.70/hour

• This pay band is dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

• Weekday Night (Mon-Fri 6p to 8a): $4.00
• Weekend Day (Sat-Sun 8a to 6p): $4.0
• Weekend Night (Sat-Sun 6p to 8a): $5.50

As a Cardiology Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Calculate basic medical math.
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy
• Triage and obtain patient history
• Assist clinician with diagnostic procedures
• Patient care including treatments
• Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
