Job summary

Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Services is seeking a veterinary clinical professional to join our team. The role involves monitoring patients during chemotherapy, assisting with diagnostics (CT scans, ultrasounds, radiographs), preparing bloodwork, and maintaining accurate medical records.

This full-time position offers four 10-hour weekdays with some holidays, a pay range of $25 to $35 per hour based on experience, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plan,

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Confident in patient restraint and handling.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software like EzyVet or SmartFlow is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and work in full PPE during treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients during chemotherapy with full PPE.
  • Assist with diagnostics such as CT scans, biopsies, ultrasounds, and radiographs.
  • Support diagnostic processes by preparing bloodwork and imaging.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment sheets, and controlled drug logs.
  • Support client communication, scheduling, and discharge procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and holding patients during chemotherapy treatments with full PPE
  • Assisting with diagnostics such as CT scans, biopsies, ultrasounds, and radiographs
  • Supporting diagnostic processes by preparing bloodwork and imaging
  • Participating in the radioactive I131 program for hyperthyroid cats
  • Maintaining accurate medical records, treatment sheets, and controlled drug logs
  • Performing restraint, pain assessments, and helping with medication preparation
  • Supporting client communication, scheduling, and discharge procedures
  • Assisting with various diagnostics and procedures, and cross-training with other departments
Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary clinical experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Confidence in patient restraint and handling
  • Familiarity with platforms like EzyVet and SmartFlow is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and work in full PPE during treatments
  • A desire to learn, grow, and collaborate in a high-touch environment

This full-time role involves working four 10-hour weekdays, with some holidays required. Compensation ranges from $25 to $35 per hour, based on experience and licensure.
