Allen Family Vet in Allen, TX is seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join a team dedicated to compassionate care for pets. You will support doctors and technicians, assist with procedures, and help educate clients while maintaining a clean and safe clinic environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and opportunities to grow into a veterinary technician position within the practice.

Qualifications

• Ability to work 1-2 Saturdays per month, half day
• Able to lift patients up to 25 pounds; assist for heavier lifts
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Flexible work schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care for patients and clients
• Assist Doctor and Technician staff with patient restraint and treatments
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment
• Communicate with clients and educate patients and families
• Maintain thorough medical records
• Perform radiology procedures
• Administer medications, fill prescriptions, and perform pharmacy duties
• Monitor patient recovery and post-operative status
• Assist with in-house diagnostics
• Wrap and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments
• Restock supplies
• Maintain hospital and breakroom cleanliness

Essential Responsibilities

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to work 1-2 Saturday's a month, half day
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance
