Job summary

VCA Allenwood Animal Hospital in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We value each person’s unique skills and personality and strive to create a supportive, low-stress environment for patients and clients.

You will assist veterinarians with patient care, lab work, imaging, anesthesia support, and recordkeeping, while benefiting from a comprehensive benefits package, tuition assistance, and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary support or technician roles preferred.
• Ability to deliver compassionate client service and care.
• Familiar with medication administration and basic lab procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient handling and exam preparation.
• Perform lab tests and process diagnostic samples.
• Support anesthesia, dentistry, and imaging as needed.
• Maintain medical records and ensure client education.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $17-$24/ hour
