Rustburg Veterinary Clinic in Rustburg, VA, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy practice. You will assist doctors, restrain animals, collect samples, and help with dental cleanings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assisting doctors and technicians in the exam rooms, treatment area and surgery.
• Filling prescriptions.
• Restraining pets for exams and treatments.
• Cleaning hospital treatment and exam areas.
• Collect samples (urine, blood, feces, etc.) and running necessary tests.
• Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (intravenous, intramuscular, oral, rectal, etc.).
• Prepping and monitoring patients for anesthesia.
• Performing dental cleanings.

Requirements:

A minimum of one year experience as a veterinary assistant and/or completion of veterinary assistant course work.
