Rustburg Veterinary Hospital in Rustburg, Virginia is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team and deliver high-quality care with warmth and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will assist doctors and technicians, restrain animals safely, collect samples, educate clients, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced clinic. We offer a supportive, family-like atmosphere with paid time off, IRA match after 6 months, a 4-day work week, and no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assisting doctors and technicians in the exam rooms, treatment area and surgery
• Filling prescriptions
• Restraining pets for exams and treatments
• Cleaning hospital treatment and exam areas
• Collect samples (urine, blood, feces, etc.) and running necessary tests
• Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (intravenous, intramuscular, oral, rectal, etc.)
• Prepping and monitoring patients for anesthesia
• Performing dental cleanings

Job Duties

Requirements
