CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technician Assistants with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join us. While previous experience in a veterinary hospital is preferred, entry-level positions are available, and we are willing to train the right candidate!

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician Assistant (TA) supports patient care and operational efficiency by assisting Veterinary Technicians (VT) in their duties, helping meet client and patient needs. The TA relieves VTs from technical and administrative tasks to enhance daily practice efficiency. They facilitate communication between the operating room, front office, and clients.

Essential qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old at hire
• Minimum 1 year of veterinary industry experience
• Ability to properly and safely restrain animals
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Self-motivated and team-oriented

A day in the life:

• Assist VTs in preparing patients for surgeries, including administering anesthesia and restraining animals as needed.
• Partner with Vets and VTs to triage patients effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Support VTs with appointments, recording observations, and medical treatments under supervision.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
