We are seeking a compassionate, eager and dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering the high-quality care to animals and unmatched customer service to pet parents that we are known for, daily. You will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting with various tasks that ensure the well-being of our patients and the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform animal catheterization and assist with laboratory diagnostic tests.
  • Monitor animal vital signs/behavior/etc. and report any changes to the veterinary team.
  • Provide basic care for animals, including feeding, cleaning, bathing, and exercising.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the clinic by sanitizing equipment and work areas.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments..
  • Educate pet owners on proper care, medication administration, and training techniques as directed by our treatment team and veterinarians.
  • Support the team with additional administrative duties

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a veterinary clinic or similar environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with animal physiology and handling techniques, particularly with small animals and/or exotics would be utilized (and/or taught "on the job") immediately.
  • Skills such as compassion, empathy, attention to detail, a passion for cleaning/organization, a desire to learn, and a willing, teachable spirit are ALL absolute must-haves.
  • Very strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with pet owners and team members are BOTH required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks at once, under the stress of emergencies, emotional situations and the unpredictable nature of animals is VITAL.
  • Previous experience in dog reading, training or handling and administering medications to animals is helpful.
