Job summary

St Georges Veterinary Hospital in Avenel, New Jersey is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience with rooming patients, assisting in surgery, animal handling and restraint, radiography, bloodwork, IV catheter placement, and client education.

This role emphasizes teamwork and ongoing professional growth within AmeriVet Veterinary Partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary experience
• Knowledge of vaccines and administering them
• Experience in dispensing and administering medication
• Able to obtain a complete patient history and maintain medical records
• Pharmacology calculations and surgical experience (prep, monitor, recovery)
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• Positive team player willing to continue to learn

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Room patients and assist in surgery
• Handle and restrain animals properly
• Assist with x-ray imaging and positioning
• Draw blood and run bloodwork

As an experienced veterinary technician, you already know what it takes to be a successful veterinary professional. The ideal candidate will be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, understands the importance of client education, place IV catheters, draw blood and run bloodwork, and is a positive and supportive team player.
