CareVet at Amity Woods in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our hospital team. You will assist veterinarians with exams, care for patients, and support client education in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Check patient medical records and enter histories into computer and files.
  • Take medical histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Maintain client educational materials.
  • Admit and discharge patients.
  • Process and log prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
  • Monitor hospital patients and log vital signs.
  • Administer medications to patients as needed.
  • Place catheters and perform blood draws.
  • Restrain and assist the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters in computer and files.
  • Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.*
  • Maintains client educational material in an efficient manner.*
  • Admits and discharges patients.*
  • Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.*
  • Monitoring hospital patients and logging vital signs.*
  • Administering medications to patients as needed.*
  • Placing catheters and performing blood draws.*
  • Restraining and assisting the doctor during exams, treatments, and anesthesia procedures.*
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop, bend, and stand on feet for long periods

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technicians in[STATE] are preferred, not necessarily required. We are open and willing to train the right candidate.
