Job summary

VCA Elgin Family Pet Center – Elgin, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our small animal practice. You will triage patients, obtain vital signs, and assist veterinarians during exams and procedures while maintaining accurate records and delivering compassionate care to pets and clients.

The role involves administering treatments, performing lab work, educating clients, and supporting home care instructions.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary experience is preferred.
  • Experience with animal handling, lab procedures, diagnostics and treatments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and multitask in a busy practice.

Responsibilities

Veterinary Technician Assistant
VCA Elgin Family Pet Center – Elgin, TX

VCA Elgin Family Pet Center is a well-established, AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor small animal practice located in Elgin, Texas.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling animals, committed to providing exceptional patient and client care, and dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of pets and their families. You must possess strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally every day.

As a member of the VCA team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Triaging patients and obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including patient restraint
  • Administering treatments and vaccinations as directed
  • Performing laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing
  • Filling and dispensing prescriptions
  • Educating clients on preventive care, treatments, and medications
