Job summary

Healing Hands Animal Hospital in Burgaw, North Carolina seeks a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. You will assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries, answer client calls, and support daily patient care.

No prior experience required for new graduates; we welcome motivated learners who love animals and want hands-on veterinary experience in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• Experience as an RVT or Vet Tech Assistant or kennel attendant.
• Willingness to work Saturdays 8am-12pm.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to learn about animal care and medicine.
• Love of animals and comfort with unpredictable dogs/cats/exotics.
• Ability to jump in and cover a wide range of duties.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians with patients, including exams, procedures, and surgeries
• Answer phones, handle client inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
• Perform kennel cleaning and maintenance, exercise pets, and administer medications as needed
• Participate in in-home care and support our team in providing comprehensive care to our patients
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of sanitation and safety

Requirements:

• Experience as a RVT or Vet Tech Assistant, kennel attendant, or background in animal care is required
• Willingness to work Saturdays, 8am-12pm
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty while learning about animal care and medicine
• Love of animals with no hesitance around unpredictable dogs, cats, small animals, and exotics
• Ability to jump in wherever needed, covering a wide range of duties
