Wieuca Animal Clinic in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support doctors and care for a variety of companion animals. Responsibilities include patient restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, medications, and client communication.

The role offers hands-on training and opportunities for career development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience.
• Must be compassionate, calm, team oriented and a strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficiency in sample collection, lab tests and radiographs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples.
• Diagnostic imaging and radiographs.
• Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability; administration of medications.
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthesia management.

Wieuca Animal Clinic is a progressive 5 doctor companion animal clinic that has been offering comprehensive medical care to the greater Sandy Springs, GA for generations. The building was originally a donut shop, but obviously we don’t still make donuts, we just enjoy them! Our hospital is proud to be able to offer services such as: vaccines, routine check ups, digital radiology (full body & dental), in-house diagnostics, dentistry, emergency care, and more to provide our patients with the best medical care available. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

• An experienced Veterinary Assistantwith a minimum of 1-year experiencerequired.
