Job summary

Oregon Humane in Salem, OR is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our high-volume medical team. Under the direction of a veterinarian you will assist with exams, procedures, anesthesia, IV therapy, and patient care while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

This full-time role requires weekend availability and offers comprehensive benefits (medical/dental/vision, PTO, sick time, holidays, 401(k) with employer match) and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hold and maintain Certified Veterinary Technician license as required by the State of Oregon.
• Hold and maintain a Certified Euthanasia Technician license.
• Able to participate as a member of a high performing team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with dogs and cats preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures.
• Handle animals of varying species, sizes, and temperaments in a caring, safe manner.
• Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed.
• Perform routine lab procedures, collect samples, and record data.
• Induct, intubate, monitor, and assist during anesthesia and surgery.
• Enter medical records and maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
