Job summary

Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) in Red Bank, NJ seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician for anesthesia and perioperative care. The role supports surgical procedures, monitors anesthesia, and collaborates with board-certified specialists to ensure patient safety during MRI, CT, and diagnostic procedures.

The schedule is full-time, Sunday-Wednesday, 8:00am-6:00pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for advancement within a premier specialty hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• LVT, CVT, or RVT credential preferred
• Three or more years of experience working as a veterinary nursing team member
• One or more years of anesthesia experience required
• Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) required

Responsibilities

• Monitor anesthesia for surgical procedures throughout RBVH
• Provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after anesthesia and recovery
• Perform phlebotomy, sample collection, and peripheral IV catheter placement
• Administer IV fluid therapy and monitor patient response throughout procedures
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, monitoring devices, surgical instruments
• Monitor ECG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, capnography, and other critical patient parameters
• Maintain accurate anesthesia records, including medications administered and patient monitoring data
• Assist with advanced surgical cases
• Calculate drug dosages, prepare CRIs, and administer anesthetic medications under veterinary supervision
• Recognize and respond appropriately to anesthetic and medical emergencies
• Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, and clients regarding patient care and status updates
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and surgical areas

Compensation

• Credentialed Technicians: $27 - $37/hr. based on experience
• Non-Credentialed Technicians: $24 - $32/hr. based on experience
• SIGN ON BONUS up to $5000 for qualified applicants
