Job summary

Old Derby Animal Hospital in Hingham, MA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join a growing team. The role offers full-time hours across four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturdays, and the chance to work at the top of your skill set in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with inpatient care, surgery, and anesthesia.
• Solid understanding of fluid therapy, pain management, and perioperative care.
• Experience with dentistry and dental radiography.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Place IV catheters and manage anesthesia through recovery.
• Monitor ECG, SpO₂, ETCO₂, BP, temperature, and other parameters.
• Develop and manage anesthesia and pain-control protocols.
• Provide perioperative nursing care and support recovery.
• Assist with routine and advanced surgical procedures.
• Support laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures.
• Perform dental procedures including dental radiography, scaling, and charting.
• Maintain sterile technique and medical records.
