Job summary

Lakeside Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team in New York. You will assist veterinarians during exams and procedures, restrain animals safely, maintain clean treatment areas, and support client communication and patient records.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Strong animal handling and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Safely restrain animals and provide compassionate patient care.
• Clean and disinfect exam rooms, kennels, and equipment.
• Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized or boarding pets.
• Prepare supplies, set up treatment areas, and assist with basic lab tasks.
• Support client communication, patient check-ins, and medical recordkeeping.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital.
