Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician for a leading academic institution in Philadelphia, PA. The role focuses on assisting in surgery setup, anesthesia monitoring, recordkeeping, and maintaining operating rooms and prep areas.

Ideal candidates will hold a BS in biology or a related field with at least 1 year of veterinary experience in animal research. Proficiency with anesthesia equipment, autoclaves and rodent handling is required.

• Perform Maintenance of surgery O.R.s, procedure rooms and prep areas
• Proper medical waste disposal and final disposition of animals
• Provide support to rodent breeding colonies

Qualifications for the Veterinary Technician include:

• A minimum of 1-year veterinary experience within animal research
• Demonstrated proficiency with anesthesia monitoring, anesthesia machines, ventilators/respirators, autoclaves, and surgical tools.
• Technical capabilities with animal breeding, tissue sampling, harvesting, collection, and rodent mouse models
• BS in biology related field required

Compensation for the Veterinary Technician include:
