We are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to operate as a public benefit corporation. Our purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through developing novel pharmaceutical therapies and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) aims to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. Founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), we now have six FDA-approved therapies for PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD), and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our pipeline also includes therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
Since organ transplants are often the only cure for end-stage diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, and PF, and given the shortage of available organs, we are working to create manufactured organs to address this gap. We believe that an unlimited supply of transplantable organs will eliminate the waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases.
The Veterinary Technician will be part of a team managing daily operations within the swine transplant research facility. Key responsibilities include animal treatment, anesthesia, assisting in surgical and post-operative care, supporting animal welfare activities such as feeding and health monitoring, and maintaining medical equipment and records at the facility.
This position is located in Blacksburg, VA.
