Job summary

Warren Animal Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our busy, multi-doctor practice.

You will assist with exam rooms, surgery, anesthesia monitoring, client education, and patient care while maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced environment. Competitive pay and full-time hours with two evening shifts and rotating Saturdays are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician or strong veterinary assistant background.
• Hands-on technical and patient care skills are essential.
• Effective communication with clients and team members is required.
• Must take initiative and prioritize responsibilities.
• Team-oriented in a fast-paced veterinary setting.
• Remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Comfort handling animals of different sizes and temperaments.
• Basic computer skills; Cornerstone experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples.
• Administer SQ, IM, and IV medications and injections.
• Understand commonly used veterinary medications and dosages.
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens for in-house testing and references.
• Assist with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
• Assist with emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
• Safely restrain and handle patients.
• Educate clients on treatments, medications, and patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Support efficient workflow throughout the hospital.
• Complete additional patient care and hospital duties as needed.

What You'll Be Doing
