Job summary

Warren Animal Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our busy, multi-doctor practice. The position offers full-time hours, two evening shifts, and rotating Saturdays, with starting pay around $18/hour based on experience.

We value teamwork, continuing learning, and compassionate patient/client care. The successful candidate will perform exams, treatments, surgeries, and dental work while educating clients and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Has previous veterinary technician or strong veterinary assistant experience.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and team members.
  • Takes initiative and can prioritize responsibilities.
  • Works well as part of a collaborative veterinary team.
  • Remains calm and professional during stressful situations.
  • Comfortably handles animals of different sizes and temperaments.
  • Cornerstone experience is a plus.
  • Can stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
  • Performing venipuncture and collecting blood samples.
  • Administering SQ, IM, and IV medications and injections.
  • Understanding commonly used veterinary medications and appropriate dosages.
  • Preparing and processing laboratory specimens for in-house testing and reference laboratories.
  • Assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Assisting with emergency procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Safely restraining and handling patients.
  • Educating clients on treatments, medications, and patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Supporting efficient workflow throughout the hospital.
  • Completing additional patient care and hospital duties as needed.

Warren Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing, multi-doctor practice in Phillipsburg, NJ.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely with our veterinarians and support team throughout appointments, treatments, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. Responsibilities include:
