Job summary

Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

Western Vet Group’s veterinary technicians use their skills and education to the highest extent of their abilities. These accomplished individuals have proven proficiency and talents across multiple platforms, such as:

• Technical proficiency in friendly or fear-free patient handling
• Accurately triaging patients
• Administering medications, vaccines and other treatments
• Providing post-operative care to patient
• Performing basic wound care
• Venipuncture
• Assisting with surgical and dental procedures
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Properly collecting and preparing samples for submission to outside laboratories or in-house testing
• Preparing surgical instruments and supplies
• Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing medical equipment
• Feeding and hydrating patients as needed
• Accurately handling and recording controlled substances
• Knowledge of veterinary medical pharmacology and terminology

Job Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on veterinary technician experience.
• You will be working in a progressive and fast-paced environment, must be a positive team player and excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be well-versed in animal restraint.
• Flexible schedule (Five 8 hour shifts or Four 10 hour shifts available)
