Job summary

Tenafly Veterinary Center in Tenafly, NJ is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and high-quality service to clients.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of veterinary experience, comfort with procedures, good client communication, and a commitment to pet welfare. Hourly pay ranges from $21 to $28, depending on experience and qualifications, with a full benefits package and 401(k).

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary experience required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate care instructions and status updates to clients.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Salary: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with the following typical hours. The schedule includes four weekday shifts from 8:00 - 7:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Availability every Saturday is required.
