Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant role preferred
• Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, anesthesia, dental procedures, venipuncture, and radiography

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry
• Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments
• Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery as directed by team
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

Kierland Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery as directed by the veterinary team
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography

• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

Schedule And Compensation

• Compensation: $20-27 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Opening Saturdays come at the end of the year.

Preferred Qualifications And Skill Set

• 5+ years of experience in a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills

Kierland Animal Clinic is a 4-doctor small-animal practice caring for dogs and cats. The hospital offers digital X-ray and digital dental radiography and works closely with a local shelter, providing meaningful exposure to community-focused veterinary medicine. Most surgical cases are spay/neuter procedures, making this a strong environment for building confidence in routine surgery and general practice. The practice is located in Scottsdale, a vibrant area known for its Sonoran Desert scenery, hiking, upscale shopping, restaurants, arts, golf, and resorts. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
