Job summary

Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. This versatile, client-focused role balances exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has 2+ years veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in Texas preferred.
  • Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, dental prophylaxis and radiography.
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement and radiology safety.
  • Ability to perform in-house diagnostic testing and manage records.

Responsibilities

  • Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
  • Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
  • Assist in surgery and dental procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
  • Identify patient concerns and support case management.
  • Educate clients and build strong relationships.

Job description

Vista Vet Animal Hospital & Pet Lodge is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support.

We value experienced technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities Include
  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule And Compensation
  • Compensation: $18-$24 per hour, for each hour worked
  • We are open to either Full-Time or Part-Time, with flexible availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating weekends.

Preferred Qualifications And Skill Set
  • 2+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
  • Active, good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Texas preferred
  • Proficiency in the following skills (preferred):
    • Anesthetic monitoring, and recovery
    • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
    • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
    • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
    • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
    • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
    • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
