Piper Companies is currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PA) to work with a leading Philadelphia academic institution.

Responsibilities for the Veterinary Technician include:
  1. Assist in surgery setup including disinfection and autoclaving of supplies, equipment, and rooms.
  2. Maintain proper record keeping including SOPs, drug usage, and medical records.
  3. Perform maintenance of surgery O.R.s, procedure rooms, and prep areas.
  4. Ensure proper medical waste disposal and final disposition of animals.
  5. Provide support to rodent breeding colonies.
Qualifications for the Veterinary Technician include:
  1. A minimum of 1-year veterinary experience within animal research.
  2. Proficiency with anesthesia monitoring, anesthesia machines, ventilators/respirators, autoclaves, and surgical tools.
  3. Technical skills with animal breeding, tissue sampling, harvesting, collection, and rodent mouse models.
  4. Bachelor's degree in a biology-related field required.
Compensation for the Veterinary Technician includes:
